You are here: Home » What is INTENTION?

INTENTION IS THE FIRST NEGOTIATING COMPETITION for undergraduate students from all around Indonesia. The competition will give you the best experience in negotiating recent international disputes in order to make a deal and solve the issue. Unlike usual debate competitions, INTENTION aims at enhancing formal and professional communication as well as analytical and argumentative strategies to tackle the different interests of States.

Each competition consists of two teams; each team consists of two persons. Every team is to portray their respective views and claims in order to meet mutual consent.

The competition will be judged upon:

  1. How the negotiators are able to respond and came up with their claims on the case
  2. The methods used to offer and compromise on the issue
  3. The manners displayed throughout the negotiation

The competition will be beneficial for all undergraduate students to improve their communication skill, especially for those who want to experience becoming ambassadors, diplomats or representative of a State.

The world today keeps on developing, and trans-boundary cooperation has yet to grow even vastly, reaching all sectors of human needs i.e. trade, politics, diplomatic relations, etc. In order to cope with the status quo, negotiation skill is indeed very useful, not only for future law or politic practitioners, but also for every single field of studies.

Let’s improve your communication skill with INTENTION.

Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate – JF Kennedy
